How does Schoolyear handle privacy?

Schoolyear processes and uses personal data solely for the secure administration of exams. As Schoolyear is solely used on the institution's premises, no audio, webcam, or screen recordings are captured or processed. What does Schoolyear do with my computer?

The Schoolyear application prevents you from accessing other programs, documents, or websites during the exam, except for the exam itself. When launching the application, Schoolyear loads in full-screen mode and closes any open programs and documents, so that only the exam questions from the relevant online exam platform are visible. The Schoolyear application has its own browser, meaning no one has access to your browsing behavior, history, or personal documents.

During the exam, the application monitors whether it remains visible in full-screen mode and whether you attempt to access other web pages within the application. Schoolyear detects unusual or potentially suspicious behavior or incidents within the application, such as the use of shortcut keys (ctrl/alt/del) or leaving the browser. Suspicious behavior is reported to the invigilator. In the event of suspicious situations or incidents, the invigilator receives a notification on their dashboard. The invigilator will address your behavior and can grant you access to Schoolyear again.

Schoolyear Exams cannot remotely control or take over your laptop, not even during the exam. As a student, you always have full control over your own laptop and you decide when to start and close the Schoolyear application. You can always uninstall or close the software at any time, even during the exam.
